A man from Wainwright, Alaska, was arrested by the FBI at his home on charges related to alleged child exploitation offenses. The individual, Robert Segevan, 31, is accused of attempting to entice minors in his community for sexual contact, receiving and possessing child pornography, and trying to persuade minors to produce such material.

According to court documents, the North Slope Borough Police Department received a complaint on October 22, 2024, from a 15-year-old minor who reported that Segevan had requested sexually explicit images through a digital messaging application. Two other minors reportedly received similar requests. The 15-year-old stated that Segevan began messaging them in 2023 and would allegedly create new accounts if blocked.

Further investigation revealed that on November 7, 2024, the police department received a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating that an account later linked to Segevan was flagged for child sexual abuse material. The tip also included information about Segevan allegedly asking another minor to meet for sexual contact.

On November 14, authorities obtained search warrant returns from the messaging platform tied to two usernames belonging to Segevan. Law enforcement identified several explicit images sent from another minor victim. On December 24, police executed a search warrant at Segevan’s residence and seized electronic devices which are still being processed.

On June 30, 2025, the FBI received another complaint stating that Segevan allegedly asked one of the previously identified victims for photos of their body and was harassing multiple minors in Wainwright for similar images.

Segevan faces charges including receipt of child pornography, attempted enticement of a minor, possession of child pornography, and attempted production of child pornography. If convicted on these counts he could face between 15 years and life in prison. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutory factors.
